Clear,
healthy skin is the best way to look confident and healthy. To get that
healthy look, now is the time to think about cleansing, moisturizing and
sunscreens, that are best for your age and skin type. Treatments for
everything from acne to wrinkling and dull complexions are more advanced
than ever before. Products such as
AHA Rejuvenating
Cream 8 or
Gel 15 and
Vital/Super C Serum are outstanding for
fine lines and dull complexions. The
Rejuvenating Cleanser 4 is
perfect for cleansing all skin types, including acne prone skin. Clear
healthy skin cannot be achieved by cosmetics. A Total Skin Care System,
good diet and exercise is what counts. Clear healthy skin gives everyone the
look of freshness and confidence.
What
we knew about topical vitamin C now has more recent scientific evidence.
Recent studies have been done and done and have shown that topical Vitamin
C such as Vital C
Serum and Super
C Serum does indeed work. In a small study, Vitamin C use showed
more reduction of wrinkling in the treated group than the group also
produced significant results especially in the reduction of redness after 3
weeks of regular use, in addition to their regular medication. Topical
Vitamin C such as
Super C Serum has many anti-aging mechanisms. It is a free radical
scavenger, it helps in the stimulation of existing collagen and it offers
photoprotection. In fact it has additive effects when used with a sunscreen.
Remember, your best defense against aging is to avoid and protect your skin
from the sun. Cing really is believing!!!

May
is Skin Cancer Awareness Month
The American Cancer Society designates the month of May
as skin cancer awareness month. With malignant melanoma, a lethal form of
skin cancer, on the rise, early detection is the best defense. Help your
doctor help you by performing self exams. Every three months, in good
lighting and with the help of a mirror and partner, check your entire body
for moles that have one or more of the following signs:
Asymmetry - one half of the mole does not
match the other half.
Border irregularity - mole edges are
ragged, notched or blurred.
Color - irregular color, such as varied
tan, brown, black or sometimes white or red.
Diameter - larger than a pencil eraser.

Peel
vs. Laser???
In the last 10 years, lasers have become the popular way to rejuvenate
the skin. But you must consider many factors, such as safety, effectiveness,
cost and simplicity. And when all these things are taken into account the
Gold Standard is still the Chemical Peel. Chemical peeling has been a tried
and true technique for over 100 years. So whether you want a superficial,
medium or deep facial resurfacing, chemical peeling will always be an
effective method. The most common types of chemical peels are glycolic acid
and TCA peels.
TIP: Remember the skin under your eyes is NOT like the rest of
your face, and really needs special attention. There are NO oil glands in
this area to provide moisture and so this area becomes drier and fine lines
and wrinkles are more prominent. Therefore an eye cream like the
AHA Revive Eye Cream or the
Ultimate Eye Cream is essential,
because it is a richer formulation made for this very delicate skin.
